Job Summary General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

Under general supervision, plans, tracks, analyzes, and reports in accordance with procedures for projects of varying contract type, size, and complexity. Works in a team environment with technical, financial, and management staff to track and control contract activity and deliverables. Interacts with management to establish and maintain cost/schedule baseline and perform Estimates At Completion. May assist in the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and related dictionaries.

Contributes to the development and implementation of Earned Value or equivalent cost tracking methodologies, performs related variance analysis, and works with program/project managers and technical personnel to ensure uniform application of procedures. Implements reporting procedures to review project status, valuation of work in progress, as well as tracking procedures for contract deliverables. Assists in new business proposals by developing schedules and reviewing manpower and cost estimates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares schedules and budgets, and performs monitoring, analysis and reporting on assigned contracts.
  • Monitors and assures budget availability, proper approval authorization and charge accounts. Tracks the status of procurements for the purposes of cost reporting.
  • May contribute to the preparation of cost/schedule, variance and earned value reports/analysis.
  • May contribute to the preparation and maintenance of master program schedules for assigned contracts.
  • Interfaces with operating and support groups (Purchasing, Finance, QA) to collect data for preparation of schedules and reports.
  • Provides task leaders and program managers with clear, timely and accurate information and make recommendations with which to make decisions.
  • Assists in the development of reporting procedures to evaluate project status, valuation of work in progress, and tracking of contract deliverables.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline, along with three or more years of related experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have general knowledge of accounting principles, planning and tracking procedures and manufacturing systems in a research or production environment. Possess good organizational skills.
  • An effective communicator with the ability to write, interpret and explain programmatic issues.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with the following electronic software: Microsoft Excel (pivot tables), word processing, e-mail, and project management.

Salary:$56,820 - $96,015
