We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Developer to support our Air Systems Maintenance Training Team in Palmdale, CA.

Under general direction, this position is responsible for developing and coordinating curriculum and training programs for operational or functional employees, maintainers, or customers. The role involves integrating innovative training solutions, such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), with a focus on creating immersive learning experiences using a Unity-based training environment. Key responsibilities include designing and building 3D models, developing interactive VR/AR training lessons, and ensuring alignment with technical specifications, learning requirements, engineering instructions, technical orders, procedures, and military/government regulations. This position also involves supporting Instructors in delivering training using VR/AR-based lessons, as well as evaluating course metrics related to the VR/AR training program. The role requires independent judgment and discretion to ensure that training programs are effective, engaging, and aligned with organizational goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Convert CAD drawings and models into optimized Unity assets utilizing software such as Blender and PiXYZ Studio.

· Creating and applying realistic texture maps to models that will enhance realism and effectiveness in the Unity based VR/AR training environment.

· Experience creating custom animations in Unity utilizing C# scripts is desired.

· Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to translate traditional training materials into interactive AR/VR experiences utilizing pre-existing Unity based training software.

· Test and refine AR/VR training simulations to ensure usability and effectiveness, making necessary adjustments based on feedback and testing results.

· Stay up to date with the latest AR/VR technologies and best practices to continuously improve and innovate training solutions.

· Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and stakeholders during the implementation and operational phases of AR/VR training programs.

· Develops and coordinates curriculum; conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.

· Develops training schedules; course content and coordinates the development of training aids; in coordination with internal customers, contractors, or vendors, develops in-house programs, learning aids, and activities to address developmental needs.

· Develops and administers student examinations; continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

· Maintains certification records on trained personnel.

· Coordinates training programs with customer and/or contractor personnel; standardizes user training, technical manuals and other aspects of integrated logistics support.

· Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

· Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

· Other duties as assigned or as required.

Job Qualifications:

· Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in a related field and three or more years experience developing and administering training programs.

· Must have a general understanding of division/subsidiary/affiliate product(s) and responsibilities and be able to understand and integrate technical writing source material into a training curriculum.

· Must possess the ability to organize, schedule and coordinate multiple work phases; determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level; and have experience demonstrating a general application of training practices, techniques, and standards.

· Must be customer focused and possess:

· The ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity

· Good verbal and written communication and presentations skills to accurately train, document, and report findings to a variety of audiences;

· Good interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees and customers

· The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information

· The ability, in some positions, to obtain a security clearance

· Good computer skills.

· Ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.

· Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.
