DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing the health of multiple projects within the Emerging Technologies Thrust Area of the Advanced Programs Group.
  • We are seeking a technically savvy and competent individual, preferably with a Bachelors degree or Masters degree, who has a proven track record in project management.
  • This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project resilience, optimize operations, and contribute to sustained organizational growth.
  • With limited direction, this position exercises considerable latitude in identifying, evaluating, developing and administering projects, programs and/or performance.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures and monitors project activities and performance metrics to ensure Company processes, procedures and standards are in compliance.
  • Performs site visits to support project needs. This will require moderate travel on a regular basis.
  • Represents the organization as the primary contact with internal business groups and external subcontractors or partners. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of internal management and be able to communicate well.
  • Primary contact and maintains professional relationship with internal functional groups.
  • Provides direction and training to professional, technical or staff and makes presentations as required.
  • Will set up and facilitate project status meetings, keeping action items and monitoring results.
  • Regularly monitor project metrics to assess quality and delivery performance and apply continuous improvement plans.
  • Develops appropriate electronic and hard copy reports, schedules, records and metrics.
  • Develops and evaluates opportunities to improve, enhance or expand relationships.
  • Resolves project related business and technical issues with minimal oversight.
  • Recommends changes/updates in projects to ensure compliance with Company processes, procedures and standards and applicable regulations.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information, security clearances are required.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or Science discipline and nine or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least three of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of project management principles, concepts, and practice as well as project management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must possess the ability to provide leadership in developing and communicating new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule and coordinate multiple work phases; determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level; and, provide innovative solutions to a range of complex problems.
  • Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and lead a team; capable of representing the organization as the prime contact and, provide leadership to less experienced professionals and support employees on projects.
  • Must be customer focused and possess the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex matters of diverse scope and nature.
  • The analytical ability to read and understand technical instructions, drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of technical personnel excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including management and outside representatives.
  • Have the capability to lead in a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees and external representatives.
  • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and software applications pertinent to the functional area; working knowledge of project scheduling.
