We have an exciting opportunity located in Poway, CA for a talented Project Engineer to join our MQ-9B Chief Engineering Team in Poway, CA. Reporting directly to the SeaGuardian Engineering Manager, in this role you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, integrate, and sustain technical publications for the diverse customer portfolio in the MQ-9B UAS product line, supporting both domestic and international customers. The MQ-9B SeaGuardian is a highly versatile, modular intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platform, equipped with a broad range of advanced payloads, including multi-domain radars, signals intelligence capabilities, EO/IR sensors, and more.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Take technical ownership of MQ-9B technical publications throughout development, integration, and sustainment.
  • Coordinate development of new capabilities for technical publications through delivery to customers.
  • Define technical publications engineering risks and work with a diverse team on ways to overcome those risks.
  • Work at the intersection of hardware and software to develop and maintain a robust publications system architecture.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and program managers to secure resources needed to meet project goals.
  • Support remote troubleshooting of technical publications.
  • Conduct hands-on, validation and verification support.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
  • Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work additional hours as required.
  • Ability to to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in senior role leading technical publication design and development from concept through validation, verification, and delivery.
  • Background in dynamic environment, with early-stage customer deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through trade-offs while meeting program deadlines.
  • Experience engaging with mechanical, electrical, software, and system teams.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
