Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating and administering complex configuration management activities. Identifies controls and accounts for systems and/or equipment as required by contractual or other requirements. Releases, updates, archives and distributes the latest revisions of engineering designs for multiple projects ensuring accurate, clear, concise and valid documentation and documentation records.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Compiles test, graphics, and data for reviews and makes recommendations on the formatting and presentation of design documents that are submitted.
  • Coordinates complete submission of documentation supporting the contract effort. Confers with engineering staff to highlight areas where additional work is needed. Determines when and what documents should be archived or transferred to a different medium for storage.
  • Establishes procedures in support of project management and/or QA; makes recommendations for improving efficiency in the production of design documentation and reports to be more timely and complete. Provides periodic updates and summary data on status and progress of project, as well as data for forecasting purposes.
  • Ensures customer requirements are implemented and monitors accounting changes to ensure compliance with policy.
  • Reviews and analyzes engineering change data. Coordinates changes with all applicable activities, including manufacturing, quality, engineering, etc.
  • May provide guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires an associate's degree or equivalent and two or more years progressively more complex experience in configuration control. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of non-routine tasks and demonstrate general knowledge of configuration control procedures, theories and concepts.
  • Must possess the ability to coordinate work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.
  • The ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and asses situations and good computer skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours.
