We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Supervisor to join our Aero Services Division in San Diego, California. (Rancho Bernardo)
This role primarily focuses on the administrative oversight and personnel management of the Tool Crib Attendant, Inventory Specialists and Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE)/Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team while providing operational support as required. The Supervisor leads, mentors, and develops a team responsible for handling tools, fixtures, dies, measuring devices, and related supplies. Emphasis is placed on practice and standards development, performance management, training coordination, and strategic process improvements to ensure compliance and efficiency, with the flexibility to support day-to-day operations when necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Personnel Administration:
- Supervise and mentor the team responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing tools and equipment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, manage scheduling, and coordinate staff assignments.
- Facilitate professional development and targeted training programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for personnel-related issues, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Administrative Oversight:
- Enforce policies and procedures related to inventory tracking, equipment management, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and databases, including tracking of issued, damaged, worn out, or missing equipment.
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of regular reports on team performance and inventory status to senior management.
- Operational Support (as required):
- Provide hands-on operational assistance during periods of high demand or staff shortages.
- Support the team in addressing complex operational challenges and troubleshooting non-routine issues.
- Collaborate with the operational staff to ensure seamless execution of tasks and compliance with technical standards.
- Process Improvement & Reporting:
- Analyze administrative processes and team performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement strategic initiatives to streamline procedures, enhance compliance, and optimize resource allocation.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment of policies and effective resolution of administrative/operational issues.
- Compliance & Coordination:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, technical standards, and organizational policies.
- Act as a liaison for escalated issues, providing timely solutions to complex administrative challenges.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for training requests, vendor communications, and standard practice updates.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support strategic projects aimed at enhancing overall operational efficiency and team effectiveness.
- Oversee aspects of vendor interactions and supply chain coordination related to team operations.
- Ensure that all administrative tasks and personnel records are maintained in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Additional Managerial Responsibilities Summary:
- Team Leadership & Deployment:
- Provide comprehensive leadership throughout all operational phases—from pre-deployment to deployment—ensuring all training and administrative tasks are completed.
- Direct, mentor, and supervise staff by planning, assigning, and prioritizing activities in accordance with established guidelines and policies.
- Documentation, Reporting & Process Development:
- Develop and maintain up-to-date, accurate documentation and reports reflecting team and departmental activities.
- Participate in creating and refining operational procedures and training programs.
- Represent the team in management presentations and interdepartmental meetings.
- Personnel Management & Development:
- Engage in the recruitment, selection, retention, and development of staff, including conducting performance evaluations and promotion recommendations.
- Oversee human resource planning to ensure the availability of the required talent.
- Risk Management, Compliance & Safety:
- Conduct risk management activities and ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and safety practices.
- Oversee quality standard procedures, including the safe handling of hazardous materials and ITAR shipments.
- Interdepartmental Coordination & Additional Duties:
- Interface with other departments and locations to maximize customer support and operational efficiency.
- Provide management with regular reports and recommendations while working within budgetary constraints.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall organizational goals.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline and nine or more years progressive experience in aircraft maintenance, operations and scheduling. Additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of logistics principles, concepts, regulations and practices.
- Must have proven leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines.
- Must be able to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment.
- The ability to resolve complex management and technical problems;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and present findings;
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, management and outside representatives;
- The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and,
- Knowledge of computer operations and applications related to the position.
- Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
Salary:$81,080 - $141,650
