General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is a supplier of advanced electromagnetic systems, related power equipment and other high technology products for a variety of government and commercial applications. These product lines include Maritime, Terrestrial, Airborne and Space based systems.
With general supervision, this position is responsible for the administration of operational aspects of new and ongoing projects in the Undersea Domain business area.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administers daily operational aspects of one or more ongoing projects; participates in project plan development.
  • Integrates and analyzes project plans to ensure milestones and delivery requirements are met; ensures that all the key parties are advised.
  • Participates in problem solving and presentation generation with project managers.
  • Develops appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records.
  • May represent the organization with outside organizations.
  • Support stakeholder management and communication strategies across Operations
  • Support the implementation of best practices for project execution and operational excellence
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Work with leadership to identify improvement opportunities based on business impact
  • Provide comprehensive support to the Project Manager throughout the proposal phase with proposal development, including proposal writing, preparation of estimates, schedules, and cost analyses.
  • Support PMO by pulling data from Windchill, SAP, and BI reports and analyzing it to assist the Project Manager in making informed decisions during proposal and project execution phases, including evaluating cost drivers, lead-times for material procurement, and overall project performance metrics.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related discipline and three or more years of progressive professional project administration experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education

  • Must demonstrate a general understanding of project administration principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Must have experience organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes.
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • the ability to identify issues, analyze data and develop solutions to a variety of problems;
    • good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings;
    • good interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with other professionals; and
    • good computer skills
  • Strong leadership, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of non-routine matters of diverse scope and nature.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project is required and familiarity with Windchill, SAP, BI, Product Data Management (PDM), and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) are desired.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret level clearance.
