Job Summary General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.
Under minimal direction, this highly technical position is responsible for designing and architecting IT Enterprise systems infrastructure for integration of multiple enterprise platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise. Responsible for the development that supports long range goals and objectives. May function in a project leadership role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs and defines information technology system architecture for integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise
- Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security.
- Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.
- Collects infrastructure requirements from customers and develops infrastructure architectures to meet customer needs
- Demonstrated experience and success in presenting and defending proposed architectures to senior stakeholders at all levels.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies.
- Develops solutions to complex technical problems.
- Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to standards.
- Develops and manages an architecture governance process.
- Will function in a project leadership role at times and provide direction and guidance to lower level professional and support staff.
- May represent the organization as a primary technical contact on projects to outside vendors and customers.
- Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Act as a scrum team member within an agile methodology-lead team.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology or related field and six or more year's progressive experience in designing information technology systems architecture. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Must demonstrate an in-depth technical expertise in the design of information technology system
- architecture principles, theories and concepts.
- Must have strong organization skills including planning and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or completion dates. Possesses a breadth of knowledge about current and emerging infrastructure technologies.
- Must be customer focused and possess:
- the ability to identify and analyze issues and develop solutions to complex problems;
- strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings;
- strong interpersonal skill to interface with all levels of employees, management and external contacts.
- Must have experience in designing solutions employing Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure as well as on premise solutions
- Must have broad understanding of the capabilities of Amazon Web Services (AW) and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Should be able to read YAML or similar JSON based formats.
- Experience in automation and/or automation technologies is a plus.
- Agile methodology experience is important.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- The ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential.
