Job Summary General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS’ expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Mechanic with strong background in CNC, PLC and Robot Industrial Maintenance and Repair to join our Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) Group located in Tupelo, MS. As a skilled specialist this position is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, modifying, rebuilding, and repairing Machines in accordance with applicable building codes, plumbing and mechanical codes, manufacturer's operation and maintenance manuals, and safety regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Repair of production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work.
- Effectively troubleshoots mechanical and electrical failures on CNC equipment, PLC controls, robots, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Performs a variety of functions related to electrical controls, equipment, and wiring in an industrial plant or work-site. Work may involve testing, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of the electrical and mechanical components.
- Inspects condition of equipment and components for proper maintenance under warranty agreements.
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical equipment and production systems.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machine tool equipment and controls.
- Ability to use electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, infrared scanning equipment and other tools as necessary for servicing applicable equipment.
- Work with contractors and other maintenance personnel if necessary to ensure repairs are made properly and with minimum impact on operations.
- Communicating accurately, concisely, and professionally with your customer as to important steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion.
- Orders replacement components and parts as needed.
- Tracks and logs repair work and completed work orders.
- Cleans and maintains work areas and shop equipment.
- Adhere to Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements.
- Performs other duties as required.

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, military class 'C' school or Military Occupation Specialty (MOS), and five or more years of progressive experience as an apprentice plumber or HVAC mechanic. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Strong background in CNC, PLC, robot Maintenance and Repair is required.
- Knowledge of multiple brands and types of CNC, PLC, robot machine design and operation (Okuma, Haas, Mori, Mazak, Makino, Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
- Ability to read part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, technical documents, and troubleshooting guides.
- Demonstrate high degree of industrial mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical aptitude and repair abilities.
- Knowledge of and experience with electrical test equipment, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- High level use of basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate is required.
- Ability to work in fast paced Production environment where machine availability is required.
- Must possess the ability to work unsupervised.
- Strong reading, writing and general math skills is required.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends as needed.
Salary:$55,110 - $81,930
